Underground Mine Geologist | Tropicana Gold Mine | 8/6 Fifo

About the Role

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is looking for an Underground Mine Geologist for the Geology team at Tropicana Gold Mine in Western Australia. This is a permanent, site-based position on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth. You will report to the Senior Underground Mine Geologist and handle all parts of underground ore control, from grade control drill planning to reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise RC and diamond grade control drilling


• Map development faces for structure, alteration, rock type and mineralisation


• Build grade control block models in MP3 using conditional simulation


• Reconcile stope tonnes and grade against the grade control model


• Track lab performance and prepare monthly QAQC reports


• Maintain drilling and production databases and supervise the Production Assistant


• Contribute to the short term plan and the department budget

About You

• A BSc in Geology or higher


• Ideally two years of mine geology experience and comfort working underground


• Strong organisation, numeracy and communication skills


• Working knowledge of Vulcan, Pitram, MP3 and MS Office


• A current manual WA C class driver's licence


• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and permanent Australian work rights
