Trainee Dump Truck Operator | Macmahon Wa Surface Sites | 2/1 Fifo/dido

About the Role

Macmahon is taking on trainees for its 24 month Dump Truck Operator traineeship at its Surface West mine sites in Western Australia. Trainees work towards the RII30120 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations through Macmahon's own training organisation, with Western Australian government funding. The roster is 2:1 days and nights, FIFO or DIDO from Perth. Shortlisted applicants must attend an assessment centre day on 27 November 2026, and successful trainees start in February 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to operate rigid haul trucks safely and efficiently


• Train first in a Caterpillar truck simulator, then on site


• Keep work areas tidy and support safe interactions with other crews


• Back your crew and share what you learn

About You

• A full, unrestricted manual driver's licence


• Full Australian working rights as a citizen or permanent resident


• Experience working 12 hour shifts is highly desirable


• Mine site experience helps but is not essential


• Able to pass a full pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol testing, plus criminal history and qualification checks
