About Fraser
Fraser Engineering is a Massachusetts mechanical contractor with nearly 100 employees, delivering HVAC, plumbing, piping, and service work across commercial, institutional, and public projects. Weโ€™re a growing, team-driven company that invests in developing people into skilled, licensed tradespeople.

The Role
As an HVAC Apprentice, youโ€™ll learn the trade hands-on alongside experienced technicians and foremen. Youโ€™ll help install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems while building the skills and hours needed to advance toward licensure. This is a career path, not just a job.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Assist technicians with installing, servicing, and troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, and controls
  • Help with preventive maintenance: filter changes, belt replacement, cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting equipment
  • Run and connect piping, ductwork, and electrical components under supervision
  • Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and vans; keep job sites clean and safe
  • Read basic blueprints, schematics, and work orders as your skills develop
  • Follow all OSHA and Fraser safety procedures, and wear required PPE
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • OSHA 10
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in building a career in HVAC
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and work in tight spaces, outdoors, and in varying weather
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn and take direction

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Completion of, or enrollment in, an HVAC/R vocational or technical program
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • Some experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related trade

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay with structured raises as you progress
  • Hands-on training and a clear path toward Massachusetts licensure
  • Medical, dental, and FSA beginning after 30 days
  • 401(k) with company profit sharing, plus additional benefits after 90 days
  • Paid holidays and paid time off
  • Company-provided tools/PPE [confirm]
  • A supportive team that wants to see you grow
