Taskforce Director of Finance

Job Description:

• Manage day-to-day accounting, forecasting accuracy, and budgeting for assigned HEI assets
• Oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliation, process improvement, and the control environment of assigned hotels
• Onboard and roll out HEI initiatives and directives to newly managed hotels
• Fill in at properties to assist with management coverage gaps
• Supervise and direct hotel financial activities, safeguard assets, and prepare financial reports according to GAAP and HEI standards
• Perform special financial analyses requested by the General Manager and Corporate Office
• Participate in Executive Committee and staff meetings
• Assist managers in analyzing statements, distributions, and other financial data
• Correct deficiencies identified in Internal Audit reports
• Maintain cash control systems, audit assets and inventories, and manage leases, contracts, covenants, and restrictions
• Prepare and coordinate annual operating and capital expenditure budgets
• Control capital expenditures and complete ROI analyses
• Prepare and review financial statements and communicate financial problems and performance to management
• Coordinate the property's labor management system
• Manage accounts receivable, credit policies, collections, write-offs, and credit loss reporting
• Complete required financial reports and requests from HEI Corporate offices
• Reconcile asset and liability account balances and manage accruals, prepaid accounts, inventories, and payment deferrals
• Maintain department job descriptions and standards, establish cross-training programs, and recruit management candidates
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• B.S. in Accounting or Hotel Management
• 3+ years experience in Hotel or Hospitality related Finance and Accounting
• Analytical approach to problems, regard for detail and accuracy
• Assertive personality, professional demeanor
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
• Sound experience working within the hotel or service industry, preferably in a multi-unit capacity
• Ability to successfully direct multiple and complex project work streams to successful completion
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing business needs
• Travel is required 100% of the time
