Job Description
Role
SSOE Group is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work onsite in the Troy, MI office. The intern will perform assigned structural engineering tasks under close supervision, follow department standards and procedures, and support project deliverables on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned tasks under the close supervision of the Department Manager or designee.
- Receive and follow specific, detailed instruction and learn department standards, methods, and procedures.
- Use basic computer tools; Revit or AutoCAD skills are a plus.
- Meet deadlines for daily duties and special projects as assigned.
- Participate in occasional local client visits (local travel may be required).
- Maintain required credentials for travel (valid driver’s license as required).
Requirements
- Enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with interest in Structural Engineering or completed structural engineering coursework.
- Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
- Registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent co-op office.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
Location & Work Arrangement
This is an onsite position in Troy, MI. Daily in-person attendance is required; remote or hybrid work is not available.
Compensation
Salary range: $20 - $23 per hour, depending on year in school.
