Software Engineer

Job Description:

• Build and enhance scalable Golang microservices powering eligibility, coverage, billing, and client-facing systems
• Automate and streamline operational workflows to reduce manual data handling and improve member and client data accuracy and availability
• Design and deliver self-service tools for finance, operations, and client teams
• Ensure member, client, and operational data is accurate, consistent, and traceable for internal decision-making and external reporting
• Work with data and AI teams on AI applications for data validation, process automation, and anomaly detection
• Contribute to client-facing APIs enabling seamless data exchange between Virta and customers
• Build reliable systems, improve data accuracy, automate critical processes, and support transparent reporting

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of shipping backend code in a high-quality production environment, with exposure to data-centric systems
• Experience building microservices in production
• Experience with data and event-based architectures, including API development, SQL/NoSQL datastores, and messaging queues
• Experience with Golang
• Experience with a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS and/or Azure
• Strong communication skills and experience interfacing with technical and non-technical business stakeholders
• Long-term thinking and focus on business impact without sacrificing engineering quality
• Practical use of AI tools, listed as a bonus
• Light frontend skills, listed as a bonus
• Exposure to healthcare, fintech, or other regulated domains, listed as a bonus
• Must follow security and privacy procedures for sensitive patient information governed by HIPAA
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
