Software Development Engineer 1

Job Description:

• Develop cloud-based, highly available and highly scalable software systems integrating with machine learning and AI systems
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, functional and performance testing, documentation, and design verification
• Improve internal processes by automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery, infrastructure scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency
• Contribute to code reviews and champion quality-control, testing, and deployment best practices in an Agile environment
• Learn, maintain, and update internally developed applications
• Support QA in diagnosing and resolving testing and production bugs
• Participate in on-call rotations when required
• Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers to build infrastructure supporting data pipelines, storage, and APIs

Requirements:

• Strong programming skills; Kotlin/Java preferred, or other major programming languages
• Familiarity using relevant, modern software test tools and equipment
• Proven ability to learn new tools and technology
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and several simultaneous tasks and projects
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• Minimum of 0–2 years related experience
• Ability to participate in 0–5% travel
• Must be located in a hub region: California, Pacific Northwest, Texas, or Chicago
