Job Description

Role

The Senior UX Designer will lead day-to-day design strategy and execution across multiple healthcare products, translating complex requirements into scalable, production-ready user experiences. This individual contributor role emphasizes systems thinking, high-quality interaction and visual design, and close collaboration with engineering to ensure design intent is realized in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product design for multiple products in a portfolio, owning design strategy and deliverables.
• Plan and facilitate user research and testing (user interviews, A/B testing, usability testing, surveys, analytics) and document findings (journeys, personas, information architecture, service blueprints).
• Produce deliverables including user flows, wireframes, visual designs, interactive and motion prototypes, and annotated specifications.
• Use judgment to choose appropriate fidelity (sketches, AI-assisted proofs-of-concept, or fully refined specs) and prioritize durable, maintainable solutions.
• Apply and contribute to the HCA design system (Neutron), improving adoption and pattern quality.
• Collaborate deeply with front-end engineers; ensure designs align with component-based development and modern frameworks.
• Drive strategy conversations with product and engineering partners, foster UX-centric culture, and mentor junior designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, UX, product design, graphic design, or related field (required).
• 5+ years of experience in UX or design-related roles (required).
• Demonstrated expertise in human-centered design, interaction, visual, and systems design.
• Strong systems thinking and experience working with or contributing to mature design systems.
• Experience with user research methods and both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder influence skills; ability to present to senior leaders.
• Prior collaboration with front-end engineering teams and practical understanding of how designs become production code.

Technical & Tool Experience

• Figma suite: Figma Design, FigJam, Figma Make.
• Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and implementation models: React, Vue, Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with AI-assisted design and code-authoring tools (examples cited: Copilot, Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, Replit, v0, Lovable).
• Working with a production design system (HCA’s Neutron) and component-based development practices.
