Senior Research Associate

Job Description:

• Run open-ended research projects using the internet as the primary tool, covering markets, products, companies, funding activity, competitive landscapes, people, technologies, and regulation
• Turn messy findings into matrices, comparison tables, briefs, landscape maps, and one-pagers
• Develop informed points of view, identify what matters and what is uncertain, and recommend next steps
• Use AI tools to accelerate and broaden research
• Build lightweight tools, scrapers, or trackers when needed
• Juggle several unrelated requests and reprioritize as priorities change
• Work directly with a highly accomplished leader and team

Requirements:

• 2–5 years of experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Sharp, curious, and able to reason through unfamiliar questions
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude, Cowork, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Hugging Face
• Ideally able to vibe code working scripts or prototypes without waiting on an engineer
• Comfortable working with ambiguity
• Self-directed and coachable
• Startup-minded
• Strong writing skills
• Can be remote in the US with significant travel to Los Angeles
