Senior Network Engineer

Job Description:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SolarWinds network monitoring systems and modules
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for custom and ad-hoc reports
• Design, create, and maintain SolarWinds dashboards displaying performance metrics, alerts, and system status
• Troubleshoot and resolve SolarWinds performance issues
• Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to assess monitoring and reporting needs
• Deliver reliable monitoring, actionable insights, and operational solutions
• Document system configurations, processes, troubleshooting steps, and reporting procedures
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on SolarWinds best practices and capabilities
• Support system enhancements, patches, and integrations
• Mentor and train junior team members
• Partner with IT and business teams to ensure monitoring environments meet operational requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of extensive hands-on experience with SolarWinds products, such as NPM, NCM, and SAM
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries and reports
• Experience installing, upgrading, maintaining, and troubleshooting SolarWinds environments
• Experience designing and maintaining SolarWinds dashboards
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and monitoring concepts
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications in SolarWinds or network administration preferred
• Experience with ITIL or similar service management frameworks preferred
• Experience with Thousand Eyes, LiveAction, LiveNx, LiveWire, Viavi, Splunk, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, shell scripting, Python, AI, Linux, Github, ADO, or CICD would be a bonus
