Senior Full Stack Engineer, Basketball

Job Description:

• Build and improve backend services and APIs supporting basketball scorekeeping, stats, and postgame experiences
• Extend existing endpoints and systems for new product capabilities, including postgame editing
• Develop web features making basketball box scores and stats accessible to coaches, families, and fans
• Own technical design and delivery, making architectural decisions aligned with existing systems and product needs
• Partner with mobile engineers on backend capabilities supporting iOS and Android experiences
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers across the Hoops, Stats & Insights, and Gameday teams
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and improve system reliability and performance
• Share technical knowledge through code reviews and mentorship
• Contribute patterns and tools that help engineers work effectively
• Report to the Basketball Engineering Manager

Requirements:

• Experience delivering backend services and APIs in production
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals
• Experience building applications with TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience developing web features with React
• Experience extending existing systems and writing scalable, performant code
• Particular depth in backend development
• Ability to independently design technical solutions and lead projects from requirements through implementation and release
• Experience collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams
• Experience mentoring peers and contributing to technical decisions
• Interest in sports and products that support them
• Familiarity with basketball, scorekeeping, or sports statistics is a plus
• Must be based in the United States; candidates based in AK, DE, HI, IA, LA, MS, MT, OK, and SC cannot be hired
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
