Research Associate

Job Description:

• Run open-ended research projects using the internet as the primary tool
• Research markets, products, companies, funding activity, competitive landscapes, people, technologies, and regulation
• Turn messy findings into matrices, comparison tables, briefs, landscape maps, and one-pagers
• Develop informed points of view and identify key uncertainties and next steps
• Use AI tools to increase research speed and breadth
• Build lightweight tools, scrapers, or trackers when needed
• Manage multiple unrelated requests and reprioritize as circumstances change
• Work directly with a highly accomplished leader and team

Requirements:

• 0–2 years of experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Strong internship experience may be applicable for recent graduates
• Sharp, curious, and able to reason through unfamiliar questions
• Extensive use of AI tools, including Claude and Cowork, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Hugging Face
• Ability to vibe code working scripts or prototypes
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Self-directed and coachable
• Startup-minded
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to communicate research in a page or less
