Principal Engineer, DNA Platforms

Job Description:

• Define the technical vision, long-term architecture, and engineering roadmap for DNA Platforms
• Lead solution design, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making for complex, multi-team initiatives
• Partner with engineering, product, architecture, and business stakeholders
• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable software platforms using distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architecture patterns
• Guide modernization efforts, platform engineering practices, automation, tooling, and CI/CD adoption
• Establish engineering standards, design principles, technical governance, and measurable practices for software quality, observability, performance, reliability, and security
• Manage, coach, and develop engineers and engineering managers
• Lead technical forums, design reviews, and knowledge-sharing practices across geographically distributed teams

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including architecture and delivery of large-scale enterprise platforms
• 10+ years of experience designing distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and modern software delivery practices
• 8+ years of experience managing and developing teams in engineering, architecture, or platform technology functions
• 8+ years of experience applying security, reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability principles to production systems
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, related experience, and/or military experience
• Experience in financial technology, banking, payments, risk, or fraud platforms is nice to have
• Experience leading platform modernization, cloud adoption, or developer productivity initiatives is nice to have
• Experience working across geographically distributed engineering organizations is nice to have
