Medicaid Policy & Program Specialist

Job Description:

• Research and analyze Medicaid policies, program requirements, and practices
• Assess how policy changes affect beneficiaries, providers, agencies, and health plans
• Support program design, implementation, and evaluation
• Draft policy briefs, guidance documents, procedures, and recommendations
• Compare state approaches and identify relevant practices
• Support stakeholder interviews, working groups, and public engagement
• Review program documents and identify gaps or implementation challenges
• Collaborate with operational, legal, clinical, and analytical specialists
• Translate complex information into clear, useful materials

Requirements:

• Experience working with U.S. Medicaid policy or programs
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret complex program information and explain its practical implications
• Experience preparing reports, policy documents, guidance, or operational materials
• Ability to work collaboratively with different professional disciplines
• Preferred: State Medicaid agency, health plan, public policy, or government advisory experience
• Preferred: State plan amendments, waivers, managed care, eligibility, benefits, or provider policy
• Preferred: Long-term services and supports, behavioral health, or other specialized Medicaid programs
• Preferred: Program evaluation or stakeholder engagement
