Lead Project Delivery | Carrapateena | 4/3 Fifo

About the Role

BHP is hiring a Lead Project Delivery for its Carrapateena underground copper and gold mine, about 160 km north of Port Augusta in South Australia. The role is FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta on a 4/3 roster, with a 5/2/4/3 roster also offered. You will report to the Superintendent Projects and lead a team of project managers, engineers and specialists running a portfolio of brownfield and sustaining capital projects, from under $1M to more than $30M. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the project team and act as their first point of escalation


• Own portfolio reporting on safety, scope, cost, schedule, risk and quality


• Review estimates, forecasts, change requests and approval submissions


• Oversee contracting strategy and contractor performance across the portfolio


• Coordinate projects and shutdowns with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply to protect production


• Guide projects through initiation, execution, commissioning, handover and close-out under BHP project frameworks

About You

• Significant project delivery experience in mining, oil and gas or heavy industry, including a lead or senior role


• A record of delivering multi-discipline brownfield projects on operating sites


• Strong grasp of project controls, estimating, scheduling, risk and contract management


• Experience leading and developing direct reports


• SAP, ProCo and strong Excel skills


• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or project management preferred, with PMP or AIPM certification a plus
