Junior Software Engineer

Job Description:

• Work with the software engineering director or engineering mentor on assignments that further the team’s objectives
• Contribute to production code, develop test applications, or build test frameworks
• Create documentation, reports, and presentations for project tracking or technical review
• Build reports, APIs, web services, web development solutions, ETL jobs, database development, and other required development tasks on KCE’s proprietary software
• Develop new features and functionalities in the existing codebase
• Populate, analyze, and manipulate databases in MS SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

• Undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with Python and/or C#, .NET, HTML, CSS
• Experience with Visual Studio Code / Visual Studio, GitHub, and Azure
• Knowledge of client-server concepts and web services
• General knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines and Docker containers
• Exposure to object-oriented design principles, data structures, and design patterns
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interest in clean energy and power markets
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience with SQL and large data sets is a plus
