Global Insights Director – Rare Disease

Job Description:

• Lead teams synthesizing market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, and advisory board information to develop strategic insights
• Integrate insights and knowledge to develop business cases and facilitate workshops supporting clinical development plans, lifecycle management, and strategic decisions
• Plan, design, and conduct primary market research with research agencies across product lifecycle phases
• Lead ad hoc strategic secondary analytics
• Communicate insights and recommendations to audiences including senior leadership
• Partner with commercial leadership and cross-functional partners to define and prioritize objectives, budgets, and work plans
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors and advance capabilities
• Manage and develop direct reports while leading select projects
• Ensure projects comply with Amgen SOPs and meet quality, timeliness, and budget expectations

Requirements:

• Doctorate degree and 4 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales and/or marketing operations experience; or Master’s degree and 8 years of such experience; or Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of such experience
• Demonstrated exceptional business acumen, strategic / critical thinking skills, and ability to influence key decisions
• Ability to independently extract, analyze, treat, and consolidate data from sources in formats with rigor and high level of accuracy and translate into actionable recommendations
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior management
• Ability to work collaboratively and adaptively in team-based, cross-functional environments
• Ability to balance a multitude of stakeholders and projects in parallel
• Strong knowledge of drug development, commercialization and the broader healthcare industry (patients, HCPs, payers)
• Experience leading primary research
• Experience with biopharmaceutical industry datasets and databases
