Job Description

Role

The Forward Deployed Strategist owns strategic customer engagements from kickoff through handoff, partnering closely with Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs). The role focuses on scoping high-value, time-boxed projects, managing executive relationships, owning the configuration layer of deliveries, driving adoption, and feeding product and engineering with actionable feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with executive sponsors to translate ambiguous business problems into concrete, time-boxed deliverables with clear ROI.
• Lead technical discovery and architecture reviews to validate technical feasibility and surface integration and infrastructure constraints.
• Work side-by-side with FDEs on technical builds; own configuration-level work (workflows, settings, integrations, platform tooling) while FDEs handle deeper production builds.
• Drive technical enablement and adoption: run hands-on training, produce playbooks and reference workflows, and coach customer teams to self-sufficiency.
• Monitor feasibility throughout delivery and proactively adjust scope with sponsors when constraints emerge.
• Identify and scope expansion opportunities during delivery in partnership with the account team.
• Escalate product gaps, integration friction, and recurring customer pain to Product and Engineering with specific, actionable detail.
• Build reusable playbooks and resources to improve the FDE organization’s capabilities.
• Establish and maintain executive relationships as the primary point of contact from kickoff through handoff.

Requirements

• 6+ years in Solutions Architecture, Deployment Strategy, technical consulting, or an Engagement Manager role owning scoping and delivery with technical teams in AI-production workflows.
• Strong understanding of agentic coding and large language models (LLMs), including how they behave in production, common failure modes, and resilient workflow patterns.
• Comfortable hands-on with Cursor workflows, integrations, and platform configuration; able to read Python and JavaScript/TypeScript to collaborate with engineers.
• Experience shipping AI-native workflows beyond prototype into production and distinguishing production constraints from non-essential features.
• Strong executive presence and the ability to translate between business outcomes and technical implementation for both sponsors and engineering teams.

Nice-to-have

• Domain depth in financial services (FSI), insurance, telecom, high-tech, healthcare/life sciences, or semiconductors.
