Role

Forward Deployed Engineer (Insurance) embedded with client teams to design, prototype, and productionize AI-enabled and automation solutions for insurance and financial services operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Embed directly with insurance/FinServ client teams to understand workflows, pain points, and data landscapes.
• Rapidly prototype and productionize agentic workflows, LLM-based extraction/classification, RPA+AI hybrid automations, and API-first integrations.
• Own full build lifecycle: architecture, proof-of-concept, UAT, hypercare, and steady-state handover.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into scoped technical designs and working prototypes quickly.
• Integrate with core systems: policy administration, claims platforms, document management, CRM (Salesforce), mainframe/ODS environments.
• Collaborate with Solution, Automation, and AI Architects to align solutions to enterprise patterns (event-driven architecture, canonical data models, API-first).
• Instrument solutions for measurable outcomes (FTE release, STP rate, FPY, cycle time reduction, defect/UAT pass-rate tracking).
• Present technical solutions in client governance forums and support pilot-to-scale transition and asset generalization.
• Provide technical inputs for RFP/proposal responses when required.

Requirements

Experience & Domain

• 10–15 years in software/solutions engineering, with 5–7 years working directly in Insurance (P&C, Life, Group Benefits) and/or Financial Services operations or technology.
• Demonstrated experience deploying solutions into live client environments.
• Working knowledge of insurance processes: underwriting, claims, policy servicing, submissions, cash/reconciliation, or loss run processing.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on coding in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript; SQL fluency mandatory.
• Practical experience with LLMs/agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel or equivalent) and RAG architectures.
• Experience with RPA/intelligent automation platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate).
• API integration and iPaaS experience (e.g., MuleSoft); familiarity with event-driven architecture and canonical data models.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps/LLMOps practices for production model deployment and monitoring.
• Comfortable working with legacy and modern data layers (mainframe extracts, ODS, CDC pipelines, modern data warehouses).

Ways of Working

• Bias for building over documenting; comfortable iterating live with client stakeholders and operating with incomplete specs.
• Ability to switch between deep technical work and CXO-facing conversations.
• Strong ownership mindset; able to drive builds independently from whiteboard to production.
• Experience in multi-client, multi-workstream delivery environments with governance cadences.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in professional services, systems integrator, or BPO transformation environments.
• Exposure to change management frameworks (Prosci ADKAR, Kotter).
• Prior forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or field engineering roles at product or AI companies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
