Forward Deployed Ai Engineer
About the Role
Join an AI engineering team building workflow automation for the insurance industry. This hands-on, customer-facing role combines software development with post-sales scoping, turning enterprise customer needs into deployed AI solutions and scalable platform improvements.
What You'll Do
Own customer implementations from requirements gathering through deployment.
Build and ship AI agents and automations, often within the same week as customer discussions.
Work with enterprise customers after the sale to understand business workflows and scope technical solutions.
Integrate successful customer-specific work into the core platform.
Partner with product and engineering teams to turn customer insights into reusable features.
What We're Looking For
Three to six years of software engineering experience in forward deployed, solutions, implementation, or product engineering roles.
Strong full-stack skills and proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
Recent experience combining customer-facing scoping and communication with hands-on coding, including shipping enterprise solutions quickly.
Experience at a venture-backed startup at Series A or later.
Experience building or deploying AI, LLM, or agentic workflows in production is a plus.
Insurance or financial services experience is helpful.
A relevant degree or equivalent technical background and substantive U.S. work experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $180,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
