Benefits Verification Specialist

Job Description:

• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for potential admissions using Availity, Verify TX, and payer outreach when necessary
• Capture thorough and accurate information for each verification of benefits
• Input insurance data into SalesForce
• Communicate professionally and courteously over the phone
• Collaborate with team members to streamline efforts and avoid duplication
• Run biweekly reports on current census insurance coverage
• Triage urgent verifications of benefits as directed by the admissions management team

Requirements:

• At least 2–3 years of insurance experience required, specifically in Verification of Benefits
• Experience verifying active, valid policy coverage, specific services covered, payment percentages, co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements under specific plans
• Light billing and collections experience preferred
• Experience in Behavioral Health settings preferred
• In-depth Verification of Benefits experience required
• Professional and courteous phone communication skills
• Accurate data entry and insurance information capture
• Experience using systems such as Availity, Verify TX, and SalesForce
